Hahaha, I actually want to ask if there are any content creators/bloggers like me who are losing money doing this, having to put in some of the money earned from elsewhere 😂
1. My advertising revenue is basically zero. Besides lacking influence and not having many ads coming my way, it might also be because I'm getting old; generally, people really can't be moved to buy from me 😂
2. Due to insufficient influence, I wasn't included in the KOL round, but there are several projects that have been picked up in the secondary market 😂
3. The consulting fees are basically break-even. I have a few friends who run a tax/accounting/security consulting company, and I've spent quite a bit of time and money consulting for projects/exchanges/law firms/accounting firms (some things I don't know I have to ask professionals). It's mostly chatting with friends or projects I find interesting.
My friends have been telling me to start paid consulting, and it seems like it needs to be put on the agenda 😭
4. Testing/research reports/long articles also yield zero (yes, I've written so many long articles without any advertising fees 😂, it's all for fun). Moreover, to test algorithms/mechanisms and track new projects, I have to spend my own money on testing, placing orders continuously, facing liquidation, and getting wrecked (a few small coins almost got wrecked by me 😂, apologies to those new DEXs).
5. Early project investments - I have a prop fund that occasionally participates in early project investments (the amounts are very small). After I started writing long articles, the number of evaluation projects I was approached by increased, and some looked quite sincere, so I participated, but so far, no returns 😭
Currently, I'm looking at new algorithmic perpetual DEXs, like permissionless listing perps, and the arbitrage differences between CEX/DEX perps/spots; the payment systems between Robots/Agentic AI; AI agents with active market-making functions (these are the ones I understand better).
Compared to the KOLs making millions of dollars a year, I'm still putting in millions of dollars myself... Saying I'm a blogger feels like I'm letting down this industry 😂 I'm dragging everyone down.
However, there are still benefits, which is that I've met a wide range of new friends and gained different "perspectives." You should know that the old lights from my cohort are either running away, retiring, or exiting the scene, with only a very few still on the front lines, so I feel very lonely at gatherings, just standing in the corner shivering.
Since I started writing, I've met a group of like-minded people, enjoying the collision of information from different sources, just like the confluence of warm and cold currents always brings abundant fish catches.
Although our backgrounds are different and our tones vary, as long as you're willing to elevate/let go of yourself and integrate, even if you're an old light, you can still be an old light with a new wick 😄
I really want to be a KOL who can earn a million dollars a year, so just pay attention to my posts.
My methodology is definitely not about making you a "traffic dog"; having a lot of traffic doesn't equal strong commercial monetization ability. With the same 70,000 followers, my income is indeed stronger than most KOLs of similar size.
Because I not only understand traffic, but also investment research. Pepe (secondary, not early), zkf (first level earns, second level loses), hyperliquid, edgex, I was the first promoter in the early Chinese-speaking market for all of them.
I can "fool" retail investors, bringing volume and huge influence to projects, and retail investors earn too. That's why my KOL income is over 6 million a year; damn, I think it's too little.
Understanding traffic, investment research, and "fooling" people, I should be able to make at least 10 million dollars a year from KOL commercial monetization.
Sigh, I’m actually quite disappointed with this KOL income level.
