alright I've had it with the gaslighting, I'm crashing out it is insane to say this the same week that people's funds were stuck on Lighter during a colossal risk event people said Lighter was Ethereum, why did it not have the same censorship resistance and reliability as Ethereum then? who was able to exit leveraged derivative positions? people lost money here this is not theoretical, especially when it comes to derivatives the forced txn delay is 18 days! (I don't have anything against Lighter specifically here fellow points farmooors, just the most recent example here) the reason "Solana" people (read: anyone technical) are skeptical when you say literally everything on earth is Ethereum is because the technical distinctions **actually matter and exist** if I call a horse an airplane and jump off the cliff thinking it can fly, I'm not gonna have a good time, physics exist these are off-chain servers that are holding real user funds, real dollars, and real value it is extremely important that the user be aware of the risks they possess, especially as the economy gets more volatile until this year, none of these servers were even Stage 1, and still, none of them are Stage 2!! when they reach Stage 2 (or ideally are native rollups), when they can't steal funds, and when the risks are minimized, you can call them Ethereum hell you can call them Ethereum right now for marketing narratives all you want (just make sure to not mess it up by calling Polymarket Ethereum but then excluding Polygon lol) but when users get rekt due to maxis calling them retarded for being skeptical that these things "are" Ethereum, it's not a twitter gaslighting contest come on man

I see a lot of Solana people still arguing that L2s aren’t Ethereum. Guys. I love your ill-placed fervor. But let’s be clear. The market has decided you are completely wrong. You have Fidelity arguing that ETH’s value is the GDP on top of it. That means its value is in L2s. You have the fact that ETH’s value started rebounding when Robinhood announced it was building an Ethereum rollup. That means its value is in L2s. And you have the fact that Ethereum’s literal technical value is securing the finances of all the rollups built on top. That also means its value is in L2s. Credit where it’s due: you did a wonderful job psyopping everyone that powering the future of finance on top of Ethereum was actually really bad for Ethereum. But unfortunately, you were wrong, you remain wrong, and you look pretty fucking dumb continuing to make this argument. Lots of love, David

Ethereum is still the home of builders. And we can add more context to that. @ElectricCapital ’s 2025 Developer Report shows that 16,181 new developers made their first commit in the Ethereum ecosystem this year ( 40% more than Solana and more than double Bitcoin). Routescan can explain why this dominance persists and what happens onchain as a result: Ethereum doesn’t stop at L1, it includes all rollups and modular extensions that depend on it for security, from @base and @Optimism to @zora, @modenetwork , @LineaBuild , and beyond, and this modular sprawl is not fragmentation. Every rollup adds new surface area for developers to experiment while inheriting Ethereum’s security and tooling stack. Ethereum doesn’t compete with its L2s. It scales through them. 🔭 What we see onchain — Routescan data When we look at verified contract growth across ecosystems, the pattern mirrors developer inflow almost perfectly: 🥇 Greater Ethereum → 1,155,200 🥈 Optimism Superchain → 951,536 🥉 Nomina → 794,543 ▫️ Avalanche → 599,697 In total, over 3.5 million verified smart contracts are now deployed across the extended Ethereum universe, and that number has accelerated sharply in 2025, coinciding with the same period of developer growth shown by Electric Capital. It is also worth noting that the Superchain, which now counts nearly one million verified contracts, is not external to Ethereum, but part of it. The OP Stack and its rollup network are built directly atop Ethereum’s security guarantees, and all contract verification data ultimately anchors to the same base layer. In Routescan’s classification, the Superchain can therefore be considered a subset of the Greater Ethereum ecosystem, rather than a separate competitor. From another perspective, the onchain layer confirms what GitHub already hinted: the Ethereum stack isn’t just attracting new devs, it's retaining more devs through deployable innovation. One of the sustained accelerations in verified contracts happened especially after the Dencun upgrade. A network effect in observability: the more rollups and L2s connect to Ethereum, the more developers converge on shared standards (EVM, Solidity, verification pipelines). The innovation compounds behind the Ethereum stack: - Each new L2 adds composability. - Each verified contract adds clarity. - Each developer adds a multiplier to both.

Everyone knows about CZ's big brother wanting to buy coins. Many related tickers have already priced it in. I woke up late and missed out as well. I took a quick look and saw that CZ bought a lot of memes with small funds before the public address. The current market cap is around 10 to 20k. You can also see that almost every once in a while, these tokens will be brought out for a beating. So I bought 0.5 BNB each to see how much I can earn once the market notices. Also, I'm planning to follow CZ's trades. I think the first coin CZ buys will attract manual funds to FOMO in, even after the purchase. So I just need to ensure I buy in a little bit behind the big players and in front of the retail investors. CZ's address is as follows: 0x28816c4c4792467390c90e5b426f198570e29307

Dive deeper into Optimism

To tackle scalability issues and high transaction costs on the Ethereum network, Optimism has emerged as a compelling Layer 2 solution. Functioning as an off-chain network layered on top of Ethereum, Optimism extends the capabilities of the blockchain. Fueled by its native token OP, the platform aims to alleviate Ethereum's challenges and enhance its performance.

What is Optimism

Optimism (OP), also known as Optimistic Ethereum (OE), is a Layer 2 solution built to address the scalability issues of the Ethereum network. At its core, Optimism utilizes a technology known as optimistic rollups. This technology bundles, or rolls up, multiple transactions into a single transaction, significantly improving the speed and cost of transactions. As Optimism is built on top of Ethereum’s architecture, developers and users can make use of the speedy and low-cost transactions whilst having the security of the Ethereum blockchain.

The Optimism team

The Optimism team comprises a group of dedicated blockchain experts, including Jaynti Kanani, Jinglan Wang, Ilya Polosukhin, Ben Jones, Paul Hauner, and Matteo Rizzi.

How does Optimism work

When a user initiates a transaction, it's executed on the Optimism network rather than directly on the Ethereum mainnet. Throughout this process, Optimism maintains communication with Ethereum's Layer 1 and leaves the original network unchanged. This is achieved through optimistic rollups, which consolidate multiple transactions into a single batch submitted to Ethereum.

By adopting this approach, the computational burden on the Ethereum mainnet is lessened, resulting in faster transaction speeds and lower gas fees. Ultimately, Optimism plays a pivotal role in alleviating strain on the Ethereum network, consequently reducing congestion and associated high fees.

Optimism’s native token: OP

OP is the token of the Optimism ecosystem, crucial in securing and powering the Optimism network. The token also serves as incentivizes and rewards for validators who correctly process and confirm transactions. Validators are able to stake OP tokens as collateral, which can be confiscated if they act maliciously.

OP tokenomics

There is a maximum supply of 4,294,967,296 OP tokens. The supply of OP tokens is carefully controlled and released into the market via strategic allocation methods such as staking rewards, developer incentives, and ecosystem grants. This approach ensures a balanced and sustainable distribution of tokens, maintaining the long-term stability and health of the Optimism ecosystem.

OP use cases

The primary purpose of the OP token is governance. This encompasses various essential functions, including allowing token holders to cast votes pertaining to proposed updates to the protocol as well as distribution of incentives for projects through the Governance Fund. Additionally, it facilitates the funding of projects hosted on the Optimism platform. OP holders are also allowed to engage in project management alongside other OP Citizens.

Distribution of OP

OP’s distribution is as follows:

  • 25 percent: Ecosystem fund
  • 20 percent: Retroactive Public Goods Spending (RetroPGF), an experimental spending mechanism designed to align with OP's objective of equating impact with profit.
  • 19 percent: Airdropped to the community
  • 19 percent: Awarded to core contributors
  • 17 percent: Given to investors

Optimism: The road ahead

On the project's horizon is the launch of a public mainnet, marking a significant milestone that will elevate Optimism's capabilities. Looking ahead, Optimism aims to become the leading Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. The project envisions a future where Ethereum's transaction processing capabilities skyrocket to millions per second while upholding its foundational principles of security and decentralization.
